I Go by Contraband, known for being an Artist also CEO and Founder of Contraband Music group. Recognize by my recent single “1Way 2Swang” from the Album Dope Tales. It’s a special project because I produced the beats, brought in artists that were with me from the beginning that saw and executed my vision. This also includes a new song Called “Moving Major”, I call it the Indie Anthem . The Track is gaining traction because of the new Music Video that was just dropped on the 1st .
What got you into music and made you realize that it was your chosen path?
I’ve always been involved in music , in a way it’s almost genetic I would say. My Family is made up of musicians and vocalists on both sides of my family tree. I’ve always been around music and have been apart since younger years,as far as being an Artist it was in highschool .I molded my sound and image through trial and error . It wasn’t easy but the challenge helped me. I relied heavily on my lyrics since I had to work on everything else.
Tell us about your new Song. And what’s the story behind it?
The Newest track is called “Moving Major” ft. TSK. Linked Up with another Dope Artist from the Nawf and made an Indie Anthem , We are both Independent Artists but Move like we have Major Deals . I like to call it an indie anthem because It really relates to the little person in a big position. Whether you’re an indie artist moving like you’re a major artist or an independent business running a company like a major fortune 500. Originally was going to be called “Cost of Moving major” but Moving major Sound better . As soon as the track comes on you hear the bells and keys that gives you an endless motivation to groove and go get it. We dropped the video for it August 1st Directed by Viral Visualss . It’s out Now on my Artist Page on YouTube .
What makes your music unique? How would you describe it?
I Use my life experience to entertain and also motivate people to accomplish their dreams. I call it dope because my music is something that makes you want to move, it’s addictive and it’s something the people have to have . That metaphor alone put my music in a whole different category from other artists . Songs like “Moving Major” are about celebrating entrepreneurship on all platforms all over the world by doing whatever it is you love to do . I know people who move major in fashion and I know people who move major in culinary , this song is for them too .
If you had one message to give to your fans, what would it be?
Whatever you do you have to do it major, make major decisions sometimes take major losses. But it’s all a part of moving major. Prepare properly and study the game, to become major in this industry or any industry that you decide to be a part of. Think Major even when you or local, the mind set alone will take you there and the work is going to match .
What’s next for you? Any upcoming projects?
More Visuals and Major Content , the idea for the track “Moving Major” is to make it a world wide indie anthem for every industry . The song celebrates Entrepreneurship in the community, especially in a time like this where everyone’s talents are special in their own way just have to make a demand for it .
I’m also now working on new material that will be out sometime soon, i’m always in the studio trying out new “experiments”
